The February 18, 2019 edition of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly ranked the $12.3 million dollar class action settlement in Fasano v. Town of Kernersville and the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County City/County Utilities Commission, 16 CVS 2801 (Forsyth County), as the 4th largest reported settlement or verdict in North Carolina in 2018. H. Brent Helms and Scott Templeton of Robinson & Lawing, LLP, along with co-counsel from a Greensboro firm, represented the class in obtaining the $12.3 million dollar settlement, which stemmed from overcharges for sewer services. As a result of the settlement, approximately 10,500 class members are slated to receive a complete refund of the overcharged amounts for sewer services along with approximately 9% interest.
