About
Brent grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended Wake Forest University and Wake Forest University School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and Moot Court Board. He received his J.D., cum laude, in 1992. Following law school, Brent served as a law clerk to the Honorable John B. Lewis of the North Carolina Court of Appeals in 1993 before joining the firm in 1994. Brent became a partner in the firm in 2000, and concentrates his practice in the areas of general civil litigation, insurance coverage litigation, catastrophic personal injury litigation and insurance defense, and complex business litigation.
Brent is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Personal Injury – Defense Litigation and is rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell®. In addition to an active litigation practice, Brent is also certified as a Superior Court Mediator by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission. He is a member of the American Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys.
